About Point Reduction

If you have received points on your driving record from a traffic violation within the last 18 months, then you can complete this course to reduce up to four points from counting toward a penalty such as a license suspension or revocation.

Point reduction means the DMV will subtract points from your record for the purposes of calculating a suspension. The ticket and points will not physically be removed from your driving record.

Points from future violations or points you received before the 18-month cutoff are not affected by completing this course. Also, you cannot take this course to prevent a mandatory suspension or revocation.

Upon course completion, we will notify the New York Department of Motor Vehicles, and your information will be entered into their database. This will automatically reduce your active point total by up to four points.
